Bayshore Gardens

This South Tampa neighborhood is fairly new— but how can a triangular little community, bordered by Howard, Bayshore, Bay to Bay and the crosstown, featuring blocks of century-old bungalows, lush foliage and old growth trees, and surrounded by long-established neighborhoods like Palma Ceia and Hyde Park, be a mere 20 years old? That’s because until relatively recently, this historic neighborhood, originally platted in 1906, had no name to distinguish it. In 2000, residents took care of that by organizing a neighborhood association and voting in a name that truly reflects this park-like community: Bayshore Gardens.
