Culbreath Isles
Established in the late 1960s, Culbreath Isles is a relative latecomer to the collection of highly desirable South Tampa neighborhoods. Just as Tampa was metamorphosing from sleepy town to vibrant metropolis, developers Joe Byars and George Thompson were laying plans for this community: It would be luxurious, meticulously landscaped and designed for maximum waterfront access to Old Tampa Bay. Byars, an avid sailor, named streets after his favorite places in the Bahamas, and many homes are on deep canals capable of hosting large yachts. Fun fact: There are no power lines here to mar your view. They’re all underground!
